The McNay Art Museum
Renown for its wide-ranging collection, the McNay’s works include post-impressionist and modern pieces, theater-centered works, medieval offerings, Native American art and more. Current exhibitions are an excellent example of the diversity of offerings: Georgia O’Keefe, Picasso & Braque, Asian Americans in Texas, and Donald Moffett.
The Witte Museum

The San Antonio Museum of Art
Walk into this castle-like museum and be transported to the largest repository of Latin American Art in the country. Also known as the home of the most comprehensive ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian art collections in the southern United States. Exhibits underway at the San Antonio Museum of Art now include A Legacy in Clay: the Ceramics of Tonalá, Mexico, Japanese Baskets from the Thoma Foundation, and Tony Parker’s Heroes and Villains—life-size sculptures from the best-loved comic book and science and fantasy fiction sagas of our day.

The River Walk Public Art Garden
At the corner of Market and Alamo Streets meet on the River Walk, a new public art garden celebrates both San Antonio and international artists with permanent and rotating installations feature free-standing sculptures and wall-mounted art. The art garden is open now but more works will be added through the fall. The latest installation, “Stargazer,” by Mexican Artist, Pedro Reyes, continues to help redefine the River Walk experience as a global public art destination. “Stargazer” encourages people to move around the work and see it form different angles, and discover other public art treasures.
The Blue Star Contemporary
The Blue Star Contemporary in Southtown was founded for artists by artists and now offers a robust calendar of onsite and offsite exhibitions, community collaborations, creative youth development programs, and public art projects. Current projects and programs include the Veterans Book Project, Travel Distance with artworks representing veterans and their families’ experience with military service, and a group exhibition featuring participants from NYFA Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program.
Art Pace
ArtPace on Main Avenue is a residency program supporting Texas, national, and international artists in the creation of new art. This summer the main space exhibition features local artist Michael Guerra Foerster’s exhibit Every Time We Say Goodbye, an exploration of intimacy, separation, grief, and memory through ceramic sculptures.
Hopscotch
Unique. Interactive. Immersive. Hopscotch is a curated 20,000 sq. foot art gallery that features 14 distinctive installations from over 40 local, national, and international artists with an aim to elicit joy and wonder. Ongoing live entertainment, food, and even Salsa lessons are another part of the joyful experience of Hopscotch.
Mural Ride
Hop on a cruiser bike at Mural Ride and see 20 of the stunning murals located in a five-to-eight-mile tour of the city. Expand your appreciation with the help of local cyclists who have a passion for the city, the arts, the food, the street art, and of course, cycling.
Art Downtown
Downtown San Antonio overall is filled with public art and one great stop is Hemisfair. This urban park is home to playful interactive pieces made for climbing on and urban murals that provide colorful backgrounds for adventurers.
