You can expect pleasant weather on Super Bowl Sunday across central Indiana. A high pressure system hovering over Nebraska and Iowa will supply the area with sunshine throughout the day. Even though it is going to be a slightly cooler day compared to Saturday, highs this afternoon will still be running more than five degrees above average for February 11.

For those heading out to watch Super Bowl LVIII, the weather will remain dry, but there will be a few more clouds in the sky. Temperatures will also drop back into the mid-30s by the time the game ends. Lows will fall into the lower 30s overnight.

We are tracking a dry start to the day Monday. However, rain chances will rise by the afternoon with the arrival of another storm system. Most forecast models are indicating that the rain will turn over to snow by Monday evening. A band of snow may set up across south-central Indiana and it may contribute to snow accumulations.

Locations where the axis sets up will have a chance to receive a quick 1″ to 2″ of snow on the ground. Isolated higher totals within that zone cannot be ruled out. Areas south of I-70 have the best chance of seeing any accumulating snowfall on grassy, elevated surfaces. Much of the snow will quickly melt from the warm ground temperatures. Stay tuned for updates because there are still some disagreements with forecast models on potential totals and the exact path of the system. If it takes a more northerly shift within the next 24 hours, there will be more of an impact for the Indianapolis area.
