According to a news release from the department, 24-year-old Malik Shaw, an Indianapolis resident, was arrested and charged with three counts of murder, as well as an unrelated warrant, on Monday.

Officials said this arrest stemmed from a “coordinated effort between law enforcement agencies,” including the Lawrence Police Department, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force.

The release said that further updates will be provided as the investigation into the triple homicide continues. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lawrence Police Department at (317) 545-7575 or through Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
