Although you are dating yourself; the merger was in 1970, more than 50 years ago, and the NFLPA has been battling about the CBA and helping players for years, dating back to the 1981 strike and finally winning free agency in 1993. This is a big-money business. I know fans get irritated, but the team is going to do what they think is best for them and the player is often going to do what they think is best for their career, and when those things don’t align, I don’t blame either side.
