SIOUX FALLS – Pierre Governor Baseball was held to only four hits and committed four errors Saturday as Yankton broke a tie with six runs in the last three innings to defeat Pierre 7-1 in an SDHSBA regional tournament game at Augustana’s Ronken Field.
George Stalley singled in the Governors’ run in the third inning to tie the game at 1-1. Yankton scored twice in the fifth inning to take the lead, then scored twice more in sixth and twice more in the seventh.
Brady Getz allowed three runs and five hits in five innings and took the loss.
Pierre’s 2022 season ended with a record of 14-13.
