CelticFest Mississippi offers something for the entire family, from ax throwing, to live music and highland games.

Live music, ax thowing and a whiskey tasting are all on tap for the annual CelticFest Mississippi this weekend.

The 31st annual celebration of “all things Irish and Scottish” takes place Friday and Saturday at Lakeshore Park at the Ross Barnett Reservoir in Brandon.

Hours on Friday are 5-10 p.m. and the evening includes a petting zoo, shopping and dancing. Those interested in ax throwing can do so at 6 p.m. but must sign a waiver. General admission is $8 on Friday and parking is free.

The fun continues from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday with more music and dancing, sheepherding dog demonstrations and competitive highland games. On Saturday, tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for ages 62 and up, military (active duty/retired with ID) and students age 14 through college.
