HANOI – Filipino Olympian Elreen Ando settled for the women’s weightlifting 64kg silver after yielding to the Vietnamese defending champion Saturday in the 31st Southeast Asian Games here.

Ando engaged in a showdown with Thi Hong Thanh Pham but the hometown bet ended up taking the gold after 104kg in snatch, 126kg in clean and jerk for 230kg total.

The Cebu-native finished 2nd with 103kg in snatch and 120 in clean and jerk for 223kg total.

Indonesia’s Rabathani Tsabitha wound up third with lifts of 100kg-116kg for 216kg total.
