Nikki Alcaraz, a 33-year-old Tennessee mother of two who went missing on a road trip with her boyfriend, was seen at a phone recycling kiosk in Redding, a California town two hours north of Sacramento, on May 28, officials said.

“By all appearances she does seem to be in good health and spirits, however we do ask that if anyone has contact with her to please reach out to their local law enforcement agency as we would like them to speak to her to verify that she is ok as she is still listed as a missing person only,” Lt. Ken Miller with the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on the sighting.

Cpl. Teddy Snyder with the Redding Police Department told SFGATE that officers responded to the sighting at the kiosk inside a Walmart store on Dana Drive, but did not make contact with Alcaraz. Cheatham County District Attorney General Ray Crouch shared an image with WKRN, a Tennessee TV station, reportedly showing Alcaraz selling her phone at the ecoATM.

Alcaraz may be traveling with Steven Stratton, her boyfriend, Miller said. She and Stratton were reportedly traveling from Cheetham County, Tennessee, in a black Jeep to visit family in Orange County, according to multiple media reports.

Alcaraz and Stratton were seen in New Mexico in the first week of May. They “were involved in some sort of an altercation in New Mexico,” Miller said, and this led Alcaraz’s family to reach out to authorities. She was listed as a missing person in Moriarty, New Mexico. In New Mexico, a witness observed Stratton hitting Alcaraz in the face, according to a Torrance County Sheriff’s Office report from May 4, WKRN reported. Stratton told police he was also hit; neither pressed charges, the report said.

Alcaraz allegedly called her sister from New Mexico. “Her eye was already turning black and you could tell she was beat up pretty bad,” Toni Alcaraz told ABC News

Stratton has an “active arrest warrant” out of Cheatham County for an unrelated incident, Miller said.
