PIERRE – Mandan put up plenty of runs Tuesday in a 15-8 win over Post 8 to spoil the Eights’ home opener at Hyde Stadium.
A fifth-inning sacrifice fly by Jack Merkwan broke a tie and gave Post 8 a 6-5 lead. Mandan then scored twice in the sixth and eight in the seventh to break the game open.
Bennett Dean had a two-run single and Matthew Hanson hit a two-run double in a five-run Post 8 first inning. Jett Zabel hit a two-run double in the seventh for Post 8 (3-5).
