A person involved in a vehicle crash Friday night was pronounced dead after medics discovered he had suffered a gunshot wound, according to Metro Police.

Officers responded about 7:35 p.m. to a crash near Bonanza Road and 22nd Street, police said.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Medics informed officers the male, whose name and age were not released, had suffered an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

Detectives determined he was in the 300 block of North 13th Street at the time of the shooting, police said. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release his name and cause of death, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
