Hurricane Ian has strengthened into a Category Four storm as it approaches the US state of Florida.
Heavy rains are already battering Florida’s west coast and meteorologists are warning of life-threatening storm surges in the hours to come.
The storm has already caused severe damage and disruption across Cuba, including an island-wide blackout as power networks failed.
