A fire in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood displaced 20 individuals and severely burned one person Wednesday afternoon, the San Francisco Fire Department said.

The two-alarm blaze, which burned through an apartment building at 1625 Leavenworth St., was called in at 1:38 p.m. and was contained at 2:38 p.m., officials said

The American Red Cross was notified of the displaced individuals, and the person with critical injuries was taken to a burn center, the department said.

Fire officials said the flames damaged the second and third floors of a four-story building, specifically units 301-303. The blaze is still under investigation.
