The Arizona Department of Veterans’ Service has announced that the application process for the Arizona State Veteran Home in Flagstaff is now open.

ASVH-Flagstaff is a long-term care facility for Arizona Veterans and their families to enjoy gorgeous mountain views with the comforts of home. Located near the Flagstaff Medical Center, the facility sits on 10 acres of land donated by the City of Flagstaff and is the perfect location for the northern Arizona community.

“We are grateful to the Flagstaff community for their continued support throughout this entire process,” said Deputy Director of Arizona State Veteran Homes, Kim Trotta. “It has been a long road but we are so excited and thrilled to start accepting applications and welcoming residents.”

“If you know someone or you yourself may need the assistance of 24 hour skilled or long-term care services please reach out to the admissions team and we will be happy to assist you, our Veteran community deserves to be cared for with the utmost dignity and respect,” Trotta added. The facility is divided into several “neighborhoods” consisting of 20 rooms with a common area that contains an entertainment center, kitchen and seating area. Each room is a fully-furnished, private room that comes equipped with specially designed modifications for all mobility levels plus a TV, facility Wifi and more! Residents and their families can also enjoy a variety of fun activities, outings and events planned by our amazing recreational coordinator to ensure a warm social connection.

The staff at ASVH-Flagstaff are respectful, well-trained and attentive so residents have a safe and enjoyable place to live in a home-like atmosphere!

“We are so excited to begin accepting resident applications for the Arizona State Veterans Home here in Flagstaff. One of the driving forces for our employees wanting to work here is caring for the Veterans and providing a safe, homelike environment in which to live,” said ASVH-Flagstaff Administrator Russell Gooddard.

The Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services broke ground on the Flagstaff home in 2019 after the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs State Home Construction Grant Program approved establishment costs for the new facility.

Goodard said his staff has been working diligently to prepare the facility and team to serve the Veterans.

To be eligible for admission, you must be a Veteran with an other than dishonorable discharge, the spouse of a Veteran, or a Gold Star family member. As a pre-requisite, applicants must require skilled nursing care.

All applicants must meet these eligibility requirements and submit a completed application with all required documents listed in the application packet to be considered for admission. Failure to submit a completed application will result in a delay of the processing of your application.
