Anya Taylor-Joy quietly got engaged and tied the knot with her boyfriend Malcolm McRae in an intimate courthouse wedding, a source told Page Six.
The Queen’s Gambit actress was photographed on Monday with McRae, wearing what appears to be an engagement ring with a green stone on her left ring finger. It comes weeks after Taylor-Joy first sparked rumors the couple may have secretly gotten engaged when she was photographed wearing a ring on her left ring finger at a Sydney airport. Taylor-Joy spoke to British Vogue in March 2022 about her relationship with McRae.
“I said to my partner [the musician and actor Malcolm McRae] the other day that he was my hobby,” she said. “I see reading as something that I have to do. He loved it because he’s the same. I’ve finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading. We’re basically 80 years old and seven at the same time and it works really well.”
She also reflected on being long distance with him, as she owns a house in east London and is regularly traveling for film projects. “Yes, it is [hard], but it’s also kind of great because when you’re together you’re really valuing the time that you have. Everyday mundane activities are so full of joy. I love going to the petrol station with him and filling up the car and going to get breakfast.”
Taylor-Joy never explicitly defined when she and McRae started dating but first spoke about having a partner last March. Neither Taylor-Joy nor her rep have commented on marriage reports yet.
