UPDATE, June 22, 5:40 p.m. The Windu Fire near Winters, Calif., is now 110 acres, but 65% contained, according to the latest update from Cal Fire.

June 22, 4:55 p.m. Cal Fire says the Windu Fire near Winters, Calif., is now 100 acres, according to the agency’s latest tweet.

A fast-moving wildfire tearing through grassland and threatening structures just south of Winters, Calif., triggered evacuations Wednesday afternoon.

The Solano County Office of Emergency Services asked residents of Wintu Way and Campos Lane in Winters to evacuate immediately. 

The Wintu Fire was approximately 30 acres with no containment as of 3:50 p.m., Cal Fire said. The fire started near the 8600 block of Wintu Way. 

The Solano County Office of Emergency Services posted a map of the fire. 

Cal Fire is posting updates on Twitter.


The fire started amid hot, breezy weather.
