One thing I’m guilty of is buying into every trend. So this season, I challenged myself to limit the number of of-the-moment buys I’m adding to my closet. To make sure I was narrowing in on the trendy items I’d actually wear the most (and not just once or twice), I created a capsule wardrobe. Creating one is easier said than done, but I recently went on a several-week-long trip and was basically forced to create one for the sake of my luggage. To be honest, I crushed it and ended up getting tons of outfit mileage out of what I packed.

Now that I’m home and spring is in full session, I’m excited to continue getting mileage out of my successful capsule. It involves a few key trends, five to be exact, as well as eight cool basics. Altogether, there are eight outfit combinations (and counting) that I’m wearing on repeat. They run the gamut from the casual ‘fit I work from home to the trendy outfits I wear to fashion meetings and even a few date night–ready looks, too.

I’m pretty proud of myself with this one, so I figured I’d share it with you all. Ahead, see the spring capsule wardrobe I created with both trends and basics, and further down, get inspired by some of the outfit combinations I’m putting together with these pieces. If you see me living in these looks from now until June, you’ll know why…
