MANILA, Philippines–Faith Nisperos dazzled with 19 points as Ateneo drubbed Far Eastern University, 25-22, 25-13, 25-23, on Thursday to open the second round with a victory in the UAAP Season 84 women’s volleyball at Mall of Asia Arena.
The Blue Eagles only encountered a semblance of opposition in the first set and waited until the young, untested Lady Tamaraws gave in down the stretch.
Yet even then, Ateneo was attacking at will, out-gunning FEU, 14-6, in that opening frame.
Ateneo upped their record to 4-4, tying Adamson, while inflicting FEU its fifth straight defeat for a 1-7 slate.
