MANILA, Philippines — Veteran radio and television sports personality Boyet Sison passed away on Saturday. He was 58.
Sison, in a Facebook post on April 13, announced that he will undergo surgery on April 14.
“Please pray for me,” Sison said. “I am nervous and scared.”

On his previous Facebook posts, Sison said he had had stomach pains, as his large intestines were blocked.
The news of Sison’s passing broke out on Saturday, prompting an outpouring of condolences from friends, co-workers and relatives.
“My goodness, this one comes as quite the shock,” Lea Salonga said in a Facebook post.

ABS-CBN reporter Jeff Canoy said Sison was “one of a kind.”
“Thank you for teaching us how to move with kindness in the cruel dancefloor that is life,” Canoy said in a Facebook post.
Sison was one of the segment hosts of “TV Patrol.”
He also became the anchor of “Fastbreak” on erstwhile dzMM and “Hardball” on ABS-CBN News Channel.
