MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines stamped its class again in triathlon at the 31st Southeast Asian Games after a one-two finish in the men’s individual event on Saturday.

Fernando Casares won the gold clocking 1:56.570 while Andrew Kim Remolino seized the silver with a time of 1:59.160 for the Philippines. Indonesia’s Ronald Bintang Setiawan wound up with the bronze medal.

Remolino also placed second in the 2019 SEA Games next to John Chicano, who is the country’s top bet in duathlon.

Casares’ gold pushed the Philippines’ medal count to six as of Saturday morning.

The triathletes are also expected to medal in the women’s individual and duathlon events.
