A shopper is dead and another person is critically injured after a shooting at Walmart in Fairfield Township Thursday.The shooting happened at the Walmart store at 3201 Princeton Road just before 8 p.m. Fairfield Township Police said a man was attempting to steal items from the electronics section of the store when a shopper intervened. The man then pulled away and run toward the front of the store where another shopper tried to stop him. That’s when police said the man pulled out a handgun and shot and killed the shopper. An employee who was in the area also tried to help and was also struck by a bullet. The employee was transported to UC West Chester and is in serious condition Police later located the suspect’s vehicle and interviewed a passenger who was in the car. As the investigation continued overnight Friday, police said they later learned the suspect may be inside the Fairfield Inn on Roosevelt Parkway in Middletown. During a search of the building, the man jumped out of a first floor window and attempted to run from the area, dropped a handgun and was placed under arrest.The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Anthony Brown, was taken to Butler County Jail on multiples felonies including aggravated robbery, aggravated murder and having weapons under disability.He appeared in court on his charges Friday morning. His bond was set at $5 million.Watch the video of Brown in court below.Prosecutors office says Brown was previously indicted for an aggravated robbery in October for an armed robbery at a Minnick’s Drive Thru. He was out on bond at the time of the shooting, the prosecutors office said. The case remains under investigation, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 513-887-4179.
