Weather permitting, a portion of Henry Street in Pierre will close to through traffic Monday (April 25, 2022) for construction work.
The closure of Henry Street, between Missouri and Dakota Avenues, will allow the city to replace a water main. Local traffic will maintain access. The section of street is expected to reopen by May 7. Through traffic is encouraged to detour around the area.

The city maintains 80 miles of streets, more than 100 miles of water main, and more than 60 miles of sanitary sewer. Each year, city staff assess the streets, in addition to utilities, sidewalks and curbs to prioritize street maintenance and reconstruction projects.
