Pierre T.F. Riggs High School held its annual awards night for seniors this week (May 3, 2022). There were several scholarships given out totaling $2,874,985.
The final scholarship awarded for the evening was the R.E. Rawlins Memorial Scholarship with seven students awarded $5,000 a year for four years and one alternate. In order to be considered for this scholarship, students must have at least a GPA of 3.75. The seven students selected were Griffin Gates, Aydan Johnson, Kayla Petersen, Isaak Rombough, Nevaeh Starr, Devin Strutt and Draix Wyatt. Alternate was Steven Juhas.
Upcoming events for Pierre seniors are:
- Native American Senior Honoring on Friday, May 13 from 2:15pm-4:00pm in the Riggs main gym
- Baccalaureate on Sunday, May 15, at 2:00pm at Lutheran Memorial Church
- Graduation on Sunday, May 22, at 2:00pm in the Riggs Main Gym, doors open at 1:00pm
All are welcome to attend any of these events.
