PIERRE – In their final event before state golf, the Pierre Governor Girls finished fifth Tuesday in the ESD Girls Tournament at Hillsview Golf Course.
Pierre shot 340, six strokes behind fourth-place Yankton. Aberdeen Central won the event with 315, followed by Harrisburg with 322 and Mitchell with 327.
Haley Nadeau tied for 15th individually with an 84 that included a birdie to lead the Governors. Ellie Jo Simpson and Madilyn Brakke each shot 85. Hadley Hart had an 86. Andrea Mosteller and Morgan Lisburg each shot 89.
The SDHSAA Girls AA State Golf Tournament will be held June 6-7 at Brookings Country Club.
