A two-vehicle crash on Monday night left one dead, Aurora Police said.

At around 11:25 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to the intersection of South Peoria Street and East Alameda Avenue to respond to a serious crash.

According to police, a blue Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling at a high speed going northbound on South Peoria Street. A blue Subaru Impreza was heading westbound on East Alameda Avenue. When the Subaru passed through an intersection during a green light, the Pontiac drove through a red light, colliding with the Subaru.

There was only one occupant of the Subaru. That occupant, Aurora Police says, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Pontiac received non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.
