The Auraria Higher Education Center will not host a Stanley Cup Final Game 6 watch party on the Tivoli Quad.
“We are mindful that a lot of activity is happening in our vibrant city on Sunday, including Denver’s popular annual Pride celebration, the ongoing SCOTUS protests at the Capitol, and a prediction of inclement weather,” officials said Saturday in an Auraria Campus announcement.
Thousands packed the quad on Friday to watch Game 5, as well as prior Stanley Cup Final games. Some fans outside the Quad breached fences on Friday after the gathering reached its 10,000 person capacity, according to Denver7.
Ball Arena will host a watch party Sunday. Parking will be free and concession stands will be open. Visit TicketMaster for ticket and event information. Proceeds will benefit Kroenke Sports Charities.
The puck drops at 6 p.m. Mountain Standard Time for Game 6 between the Colorado Avalanche and the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Avs lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.
