Pierre TF Riggs High School Freshmen Nathan Kist has been named last week’s (April 18-22, 2022) Fine Arts Performer of the Week.
Here is his nomination from band director, Mrs. McKeithan-Jensen:
Nathan has been a facet to our program since the beginning of the year. He has been willing to play whatever saxophone benefits the full group and commits 100% to whatever activity he has signed up for. Recently, he has been asked to sub for a few students last minute (one literally 20 minutes before a concert) and stepped in without hesitation while performing very well in the moment. He volunteered for the musical pit orchestra and was ready and willing to learn any additional instrument that he needed. Currently he switches between multiple books to help us sound as good as possible. In addition to this, he signs up for multiple lessons to make sure he has whatever music prepared as well as possible, is already preparing a solo for next year, and is learning a new instrument to audition for drumline. Nathan is all around an important person for our program!
