A 54-year-old man was critically wounded during an argument overnight at a residence on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m., the victim was involved in an argument with another man in the 9000 block of South Phillips Avenue. The person he was arguing with produced a firearm and shot the victim, police said.
Officers responded to the scene and arrested the shooter. A weapon was recovered at the scene.
The victim was taken with multiple gunshot wounds to the legs to UChicagoMedicine where he was listed in critical condition.
Charges were pending against the gunman.
