Henderson will be the host site of the Indoor Football League’s championship game for the next three seasons, the league announced Monday.

The IFL and The Dollar Loan Center reached a multi-year agreement to host the title game — formerly known as The United Bowl — at the home of the Vegas Knight Hawks. It will mark the first time the championship is decided on a neutral field during the league’s 14-year history.

As part of the partnership, the championship game has been rebranded to the The Dollar Loan Center IFL National Championship.

“As this idea came to fruition, it happened pretty quick,” IFL commissioner Todd Tyron said. “It didn’t take long for our ownership groups to say yes.”

Gov. Steve Sisolak said that the addition of the game is another example of Las Vegas becoming “the sports capital of the world,” highlighting the success of the Vegas Golden Knights, Las Vegas Raiders and Las Vegas Aces — and with the potential addition of the Oakland A’s.

“What’s happening in this community is absolutely incredible,” Sisolak said.

The Knight Hawks are 3-5 in their inaugural season, good for fourth place in the Western Conference. If the season ended today, Vegas would be in the playoffs.

“Once we got the IFL deal done with the Vegas Knight Hawks, I started lobbying Todd, and I said, ‘hey, we need to have every national championship game at our venue,” said Chuck Brennan, CEO of Dollar Loan Center. “And I started asking for every game. … I said maybe 10 years, but I got it for three.”
