A new Hollywood movie about the former President Donald Trump is in the works, and the person who will play him has just been revealed to the public.
New Trump Movie
Deadline reported that the Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Sebastian Stan will be portraying Trump in the film The Apprentice, which is set to be directed by the Cannes prize-winning Iranian filmmaker Ali Abbassi (Holy Spider). Production began this week for the movie, which will also star the Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jeremy Strong (âSuccessionâ) as the attorney Roy Cohn and Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) as Ivana Trump, the first wife of the former president.
The Messenger reported that The Apprentice is described as âan exploration of power and ambition set in a world of corruption and deceit. Itâs a mentor-protege story that charts the origins of an American dynasty. Filled with larger than life characters, it reveals the moral and human cost of a culture defined by winners and losers.â
The movie will revolve around Trumpâs early days in real estate in the 1970s and 1980s, according to Variety. The Hill reported that the film was written by journalist Gabriel Sherman and executive produced by the âLoudest Voice in the Roomâ writer Grant Johnson and Amy Baer in association with Kinematics as the financier. The producers of the movie include Daniel Bekerman of Scythia Films, Profile Picturesâs Jacob Jarek, and Ruth Treacy of Tailored Films.

Liberals Fire Back
Newsweek reported that social media users are fuming over Stan being cast as Trump.
âI love Sebastian Stan & I absolutely hate Donald Trump. I personally think itâs far too early for any kind of Trump biopic,â one user commented, with another adding, âAnd just like that Sebastian Stan is back on probation. What do you mean youâre gonna play Donald Trump?!â
âAside from the incredibly generous casting given how hot Sebastian Stan is đ, until I know more about this film ugh,â another user stated. âHowever, if itâs good, it will be an interesting challenge. Having seen Bertie Carvel do Trump only last year [in stage production The 47th], itâs a lot to live up to as that was brilliant!â

Stanâs Work In Fresh
Mimi Cave, the director of the thriller Fresh, revealed earlier this year that Stan convinced her to cast him in the role of a psychopath named Steve in her movie by sending her a video of himself dancing with a steak knife.
âBefore he even knew that he got the part he sent me an email and it was just a video attached of him dancing in his kitchen with a steak knife,â Cave said. âHe was just really wanting to dive into the character already.â
âSebastian and I worked really closely for many months on designing Steve, and his commitment to the role was something that allowed us to do that,â she continued.
