GREENWOOD, Ind. — Greenwood police have confirmed that a middle school wrestling coach has been arrested after allegedly sending nude photos to a female student.
Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison confirmed to FOX59/CBS4 on Wednesday that Elijah Ross, a wrestling coach working at Greenwood Middle School, was arrested Tuesday on school grounds.
According to Chief Ison, the coach was allegedly sending nude photos of himself to a female student. Ross was booked into Johnson County Jail and charged with:
- Sex crime – child solicitation
- Obscenity – child pornography
The 22-year-old Greenwood resident has since bonded out of jail on $500 cash, Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess confirmed Wednesday.
Police clarified that while Ross was arrested at GMS, it doesn’t necessarily mean the allegations occurred while he was at the school.
Johnson County Prosecutor Lance Hamner said that paperwork detailing the evidence gathered against Ross will be available within the next week.
No other information was immediately confirmed.
