Another day, another batch of new and old games are coming to Xbox’s popular Game Pass subscription service. This time around, Xbox is bringing one of 2023’s best shooters to the Game Pass library as well as a great remake, a fantastic Remedy-developed adventure, a new baseball game, and more.

Available starting today, Warhammer 40K: Boltgun is now on Game Pass on Xbox, PC, and via cloud streaming. This was one of my favorite shooters of last year, mixing the snappy and fast retro shooter action I love with modern controls and platforming. You may be a giant space marine carrying incredible and heavy weapons, but you can still jump and mantle across levels in a similar fashion to Doomguy in Doom (2016). If you love a fast, violent, and loud FPS, check out Boltgun ASAP. You won’t be disappointed.

The rest of March has some other solid games coming to Xbox Game Pass.

First up, PAW Patrol World (March 7 – Xbox, PC, Cloud) which…Actually, I have no idea what this game is and don’t want to look it up. But kids love PAW Patrol and it’s free if you subscribe to Game Pass. So stick the little brat in front of the TV for a bit and let them play this while you do adult things, like taxes or doom-scrolling social media.

Then there’s SpongeBob Square: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated (March 12 – Xbox, PC, Cloud) a remake that I adored when it launched back in 2020. We don’t get a lot of mid-budget 3D platformers anymore, like we did back in the PS2 era, so Battle For Bikini Bottom feels like a nice bit of retro fun. And it’s also just a fantastic platformer worth playing, even if you don’t care about Spongebob or never played the original.

And I have to take a moment to talk about Control Ultimate Edition (March 13 – Xbox, PC, Cloud) a third-person shooter from Remedy aka the people behind the amazing Alan Wake II. Control is a different game, a much more combat-heavy affair. But it’s equally amazing and special. This version includes all the DLC and visual improvements introduced for new consoles. As someone who has already platinumed the game on PS4 and PS5, I shouldn’t play this again. And yet I’ll be downloading Control on Xbox Series X later this month when it lands on Game Pass. What can I say, I’m a sicko.

As for the rest of the month, here’s what else is coming to Game Pass. But keep in mind Xbox sometimes surprises us with random drops and new games with no warning, so who knows what else could arrive in the next few weeks?

  • No More Heroes 3 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – March 14
  • Lightyear Frontier Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – March 19
  • MLB The Show 24 – (Cloud and Console) – March 19
