A suspect is in custody after an armed carjacking led Broomfield and Boulder authorities on a chase, Boulder police said.

Broomfield police responded to an armed carjacking at 6 a.m. Thursday and began investigating the incident before Boulder Police, CU Boulder Police and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a car driving erratically on Pearl Street around 7 a.m.

Police reported that the suspect brandished a gun and officers shot at him. Neither the suspect nor the officers were hit, Boulder police reported.

Using other car maneuvers, police stopped the suspect, taking him into custody and recovering the gun.
