INDIANAPOLIS — As had been widely expected, the Indiana Fever selected Iowa standout Caitlin Clark No. 1 overall in Monday’s WNBA Draft in Brooklyn.

After they took Clark, the Fever still had two other picks to make. Indiana used the 15th and 27th overall picks on Ohio State point guard Celeste Taylor and Florida guard Leilani Correa, respectively.

During her five-year college career, Taylor played for three different schools — Texas, Duke and Ohio State. In 146 career games, Taylor averaged 10.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest.

Taylor’s best season came at Texas in 2020-21, when she racked up 12.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Taylor and Clark went head-to-head while Taylor was at Ohio State in 2023-24. Taylor scored 10 points in both of her matchups with Iowa. Clark dropped 80 total points during the Hawkeyes’ two games against the Buckeyes.

Correa never played against Clark in college. The Lakehurst, New Jersey, native spent three seasons at St. John’s and then wrapped her collegiate career up with two years at Florida.

Correa played in 140 career collegiate games, averaging 15.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. Correa’s best season came with the Gators in 2023-24, when she put up 16.9 points and 4.2 boards a game.

Taylor and Correa join a stacked cast of Fever guards. Not counting Correa and Taylor, the Fever already have seven guards on their roster.

Among the Fever’s backcourt players are Lexie Hull, Erica Wheeler and Kelsey Mitchell, all of whom started multiple games for Indiana last year. Clark and IU alum Grace Berger could also be in the mix at guard for Indiana this season.

Counting Clark, Correa and Taylor, the Fever have 15 players on their roster. The WNBA’s current Collective Bargaining Agreement mandates that teams only carry 12 players on their rosters during the season.
