A total of 72 women, five of them foreigners, make up the huge field vying for top honors in nine total categories when the Sun Life 5150 Triathlon is flagged off on July 10 at The Bellevue Resort in Panglao island in Bohol.

Titles in age divisions from 15-19 up to 55-59 will be contested in the 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-km bike and 10-km run Olympic style event to be held in one of the country’s top triathlon hubs.

The Ironman Group/Sunrise Events, Inc. is organizing the event and will implement minimum health protocols to assure the safety of everyone.

Also on tap are the centerpiece men’s individual and relay and mixed relay competitions.

The relay all-female event drew 12 women and 10 will be taking part in the relay mixed while 26 others, including beginners, are in the roster of the Sunrise Sprint.
