An east Florida Amazon driver delivered a few laughs this week by recording video in which he talks about the hassle of dropping off packages while Hurricane Ian battered the Sunshine state.

That driver, who posted his story to TikTok and goes by the handle @abnormalpoet, seemed to have a sense of humor about his predicament.

“I hate all y’all right now!” he said, clearly soaked, on video posted Wednesday. “Ya’ll knew this hurricane was coming and you still order s–t? I have to go to 172 y’all. Ooh, I hate y’all. Everything is wet. Everything.”

On Thursday, @abnormalpoet gave a good-spirited “update,” claiming he had no idea his video would be seen by so many people. The delivery worker, who is also an aspiring musician, said that he recorded his rant after one customer complained her package wasn’t left at her front door, which is where she wanted it. That’s when he decided to vent on social media rather than arguing with that woman.

“Ya’ll know what happened,” he said.

The sporting driver thanked TokTok commenters for their sympathetic replies, some of which were apologies from people who’d place orders. He said that outpouring was appreciated, but unnecessary.

In some cases, empathetic customers told their delivery man they were sending supplies to family members in need because of the weather disaster.

“I don’t mind that — I’m okay with that,” he said.

Another video showed a customer thanking Amazon for the video game controller he received while a Category 4 hurricane was passing over Florida.

“But it’s the fact that I still had to deliver some dumb s–t…” the driver smirked.

After a couple days of dumping on Florida, Hurricane Ian made its way up the Atlantic Coast to deliver a next-day package of bad weather to South Carolina.
