More than a year after a 7-year-old was killed while attempting to cross a busy part of Vine Street, her babysitter, Mesha Smith, was arrested on Wednesday.On March 30, 2021, according to prosecutors while babysitting a pair of 7-year-olds, Smith allegedly left the children unattended after crossing a busy part of Vine Street to get into a vehicle. In an attempt to get to her, they crossed the street and were struck by a vehicle killing Shareese Lattimore and injuring the other child. Smith was indicted on three counts, including one count of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of endangering children last June. According to court documents, Smith was extradited from Detroit, Michigan, back to Ohio after having an outstanding warrant since the indictment took place. Smith’s arraignment will take place Friday morning.
