One thing about me: I love a good wardrobe basic. While it may be my job to report on the trends coming down the pipeline (our fall/winter 2022 report is already live) and test out a few of my favorites, I have such a soft spot for basics. Being the foundation of my wardrobe, my closet essentials also make up 90% of what I wear on a given day, and for that reason, they are some of my favorite pieces to shop for.
At the start of every new season, there are always certain basics I know I’ll be buying and wearing in the coming months. For fall, that list includes nonnegotiables such as ankle boots, jeans, and sweaters, which will become the foundation of countless outfits as the season progresses.
