The 19th Annual Jackson Black Rodeo is back on after initially being canceled by organizers earlier this week over safety concerns.
In canceling the event, organizers cited a shootout between to groups of teenagers at the Mississippi Mudbug Festival on the Mississippi Fairgrounds in Jackson last month in which an officer shot and killed one of the suspected teenage shooters.
On Friday, however, the Real Cowboy Association which holds the annual Black Rodeo in Jackson each year announced on its website the event is back on at its original time of 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.
Tickets went on sale at noon Friday.

Attempts to reach a representative of the Real Cowboy Association for comment were not immediately successful Friday.
Local law enforcement officials said the event will have security to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said via Twitter on Friday that the association held a press conference with law enforcement on Friday morning to announce the security plans and that the rodeo is back on. Jones said he looks forward to providing security for the 19th Annual Black Rodeo in Jackson.
