On Monday, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to a report of inappropriate contact with students by a teacher, identified as Steven Reeser, at Mayer High School.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), several students reported to the Principal and the YCSO School Resource Officer (SRO) about unwanted touching and strange treatment by the newly hired Reeser. The SRO contacted Sheriff’s detectives who arrived at the school, conducting interviews as part of an investigation into the allegations.
The detectives are looking into the allegations of not only unwanted touching but also inappropriate communication that exceeds the acceptable teacher/student relationship.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the numerous questions still outstanding while Reeser is on administrative leave from the school pending their own internal investigation.
