The Musketeers led 41-24 at halftime, but the Bearcats clawed their way back into the contest, outscoring Xavier 53-39 in the second half.Trailing 76-70 with under one minute to play, DeJulius sunk a three for Cincinnati to bring the score to 76-73. Following a Xavier free throw, DeJulius cashed in on another three pointer with 11 seconds remaining, drawing the foul in the process and sinking a free throw to tie the game at 77.However, the Musketeers had a final chance to end the game in regulation. With two seconds left, Boum was fouled and connected on the first attempt to give Xavier a 78-77 lead. After Boum missed the second free throw, Cincinnati was called for another foul with one second left, allowing Boum to connect on two more from the charity stripe and deliver the Musketeers the 80-77 victory.
