A woman from Canistota, SD, died Sunday morning (Oct. 20, 2024, 7:13am) in a three-vehicle collision 2 miles southeast of Salem.

Preliminary crash information indicates the 26 year old female driver of a 2002 Mazda Protege was traveling westbound on Interstate 90 near mile marker 366 when her vehicle left the roadway and collided into the start of a guardrail. The vehicle then re-entered the roadway, where the 56 year old male driver of a 2005 Dodge Ram collided with the rear end of the Mazda. A Peterbilt semi, driven by a 44 year old male from Milesville, SD, then collided with the front of the Mazda.
