INDIANAPOLIS – A dog died and a woman was slightly hurt after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a near northwest side residence.
According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, crews responded just after 1 a.m. to the 1000 block of W. 33rd Street.
IFD said a woman escaped through a window. She tried to get her dog but was unable to do so. The dog perished in the fire.
It took about 20 minutes for crews to get the fire under control.
The cause remains under investigation.
