A woman has been charged with two misdemeanors after she discharged chemical spray in a classroom at Chicago Bulls College Prep high school on the city’s West Side, police said Saturday.
Anita Wilkens, 36, of the 2900 block of South State Street, was arrested at approximately 12:30 p.m. Friday for one misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing and one misdemeanor count of reckless conduct, according to Chicago police.
The incident had occurred about 20 minutes earlier when Wilkens, who is either a parent or guardian of one of the high school students, barged into a classroom and discharged chemical spray at several people during an altercation at the school, 2040 W. Adams St.
Two adult staff members were taken in good condition to a hospital, while four others at the scene declined medical help, fire officials said Friday.
Students at the school were released for the day.
