As a proud Arizona native, U.S. Air Force veteran, and dedicated member of the Higley community, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Higley Unified School District (HUSD) Governing Board. My family and I have called this district home for four years, and I’ve had the privilege of watching my children grow and thrive in HUSD schools. Now, I’m eager to give back and help shape the future of our district.
The decision to run for the school board was not made lightly. It is driven by my deep commitment to the values of academic excellence, safety, and community involvement. As a parent of two current HUSD students and one recent graduate, I have a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities our schools face. My experiences in the military and the financial industry have equipped me with the leadership, strategic planning, and
decision-making skills necessary to make a meaningful impact on our schools.
My campaign centers on two core issues: academic excellence and student safety. Every child in our district deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for future success. This means not only ensuring that basic academics are taught effectively but also fostering an environment where students feel safe and supported. By focusing on these priorities, we can help every student reach their full potential.
Beyond academics, I am committed to being an advocate for our community. I understand the importance of collaboration between parents, teachers, and administrators. My goal is to represent the voices of our families and ensure they are heard in the decision-making process.
I believe my unique background makes me well-suited to serve on the HUSD Board. My military service instilled in me a strong sense of duty, discipline, and resilience—qualities I will bring to this role. My work in the financial sector has taught me the importance of strategic planning, budgeting, and the need to make informed decisions. As a board member, I will approach every issue with a commitment to research, objectivity, and the best interests of our students.
As we move forward, I envision a district where academic excellence is the standard, where our children are safe, and where the community’s voice guides our decisions. I am running for the HUSD Board because I am passionate about education and dedicated to making our district the best it can be. I ask for your support in this journey.
