SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A change is coming for a car dealership on the south end of Sioux Falls.

KELOLAND News first told you about the sale of Schulte Subaru Tuesday night.

The Schulte Family has owned and operated dealerships in the Sioux Falls area since 1969, according to its website.

This summer, KELOLAND News took you to the Cars and Coffee gathering in the dealership parking lot.

The big event draws lots of car lovers and their rides.

“We’ve got a whole row of Ferraris here. That’s kind of cool,” Mike Schulte said in June of 2024.

A now-deleted post on the Cars and Coffee of Siouxland Facebook page said the Schultes have decided to sell Schulte Subaru, and the new owners will be taking possession in mid-November.

According to business records on the South Dakota Secretary of State’s website, a new mailing address for Schulte Subaru is in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

That address belongs to Luther Automotive Group.

According to its website, it has locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

As for Schulte Subaru, the post said the business will keep the name.

The post went on to say the Schultes are opening a new business in a few months called AutoWerks.

A website for AutoWerks says the Tea business will offer classic and foreign car sales and repairs.

KELOLAND News has reached out to the Schulte family, the dealership, and Luther Automotive, but so far we haven’t received a comment.
