No one wants to be interrupted or rushed when they’re using the restroom . . . but we’ve ALL been sitting on the toilet, and heard a rap at the door.
Someone just asked the internet, “When someone knocks on the bathroom door while you’re using it, what do you say?” And it’s kinda interesting because ALL of the responses are awkward if you think about it.
1. The most popular answer was shouting, “Someone’s in here.” Yes, in the THIRD PERSON. (At least it’s not: “Frank is in here.”)
2. “Occupied!”
3. “I’m almost done . . . I’ll be out in a minute.” Or “Just a minute.”
4. “I’m in here!” (Which is strange if you think about it. Do they know you? “Oh! Is that you, Suzie? What have you been up to?”)
5. “Yeah?” This usually gets the point across . . . that someone is inside.
6. Someone noted that in Japan you’re apparently supposed to KNOCK BACK. Which is SO Japanese. Someone else said, “I understand the silent courtesy of their culture . . . but this creeps me out.”
7. A lot of people said they say NOTHING . . . assuming the door is LOCKED. One person said, “I don’t get knocking on a locked bathroom door. Someone is clearly using it.”
Other people claim they have fun with their responses . . .
8. “Come back with a warrant!”
9. “I’m with a client!”
10. “Just finishing up the paperwork.”
11. “What’s the password?”
12. “Who is it?”
13. Someone said they don’t say anything, they just SCREAM.
