Day 1 of Tennessee Titans training camp is in the books. After a long offseason, the Titans begin their quest toward improving upon their 6-11 record last season under quarterback Will Levis, who had an up-and-down rookie campaign.
Levis showed flashes of why the Titans valued him with the first pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. The Kentucky product threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns in his debut. However, he also had games where he very much looked like a rookie.
As such, the Titans were proactive in surrounding the second-year quarterback at the skill positions, adding wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd and running back Tony Pollard in free agency. All were in attendance for Wednesday’s training camp and should set Levis up for more success.
The Titans quarterback certainly sounds like he is feeling more comfortable entering Year 2.
“Stress levels are way down,” Levis said via Jim Wyatt of Titans Online. “Just having the games and reps that I did last year throughout the season, that was able to settle me into this job and understanding what it takes. I’m harder on myself than I’d like to say a lot of people are. I understand that about myself, and that can be positive and negative. There were times last year that I was a little negative for me with all the pressure and stress that I put on myself in certain situations. I’ve been able to use it in a more positive way this time around because of the confidence that I have built and just the comfortability that I have now.”
Here is everything that the Titans said following Day 1 of training camp.
