Westbound Interstate 70 is closed Monday morning near Copper Mountain for “safety concerns” as snow continues to fall, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The westbound interstate is closed between Exit 195 for Copper Mountain and Exit 180 for Vail, CDOT officials said.
Traffic cameras in the area of the closure show white, icy roads and blowing snow.
U.S. 40 is also closed in both directions Monday morning near Winter Park for safety concerns as crews work to remove snow from the roadway, CDOT officials said. The highway is closed between Cooper Creek Way and Henderson Mine Road near Winter Park.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
