On Thursday, Paramount+ released the official trailer for Landman, a highly anticipated series based on Texas Monthly and Imperative Entertainment’s 2019 podcast, Boomtown

Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The ten-episode drama was cocreated by Taylor Sheridan and Texas Monthly alum Christian Wallace, who wrote and hosted the podcast while at TM. Among the series’ executive producers are Sheridan, Wallace, and Texas Monthly’s own J. K. Nickell and Megan Creydt.

Boomtown was a labor of love for all of us who worked on the podcast, and nobody could have hosted but Christian, a West Texas native with roughneck experience and fantastic narrative chops,” Creydt said. “It’s a thrill to see this story and world in Taylor Sheridan’s hands and to know Christian has been so integral to a series we’re all going to be glued to.”

The series was filmed in and around Fort Worth. Its first two episodes will premiere on Sunday, November 17.
