How do Henderson residents feel about the state of local news coverage, the 2024 election cycle and other current events in their city and statewide?

Nevada Independent reporter Rocio Hernandez and Vegas PBS host Amber Dixon want to hear from community members during a town hall Thursday night at the College of Southern Nevada’s Henderson campus.

The event is the third community listening session of the Nevada Democracy Project — an initiative focused on civic engagement and community conversations, produced by The Nevada Independent in partnership with Vegas PBS.

At our two previous events, Las Vegas residents spoke about how racism affected urban development and the need for gun reform following the UNLV shooting last December.

Thursday’s community listening session, which will be livestreamed, will be held at CSN Henderson inside of the Student Union Ballrooms. Here’s what you need to know to join the wide-ranging conversation:

When: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20

Where: 700 College Dr., Henderson, NV 89002

How to RSVP: Fill out this form

Can’t attend in person? Tune in via the livestream, which will go live on Vegas PBS’ YouTube page just before the event begins.
